This is me…
Ok that was me a long time ago. This is me now:
I was born in Mexico and I was raised part of my childhood there until I was 10 years old when my family moved to Florida.
I grew up playing video games and watching Saturday morning cartoons like many kids. Since I can remember I always loved to draw. I would often find myself participating in art contests and drawing for friends in school.
In high school, I took some vocational classes on desktop publishing. Nothing too exciting however, what triggered my interest was the endless creation possibilities that could be done on a computer. That’s when it hit me, and I knew I wanted a career involving art and technology. The two just felt right and as graduation approached it led me to finding a school that covered those areas.
After graduating from high school, I wound up in South Florida where my creative journey began at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in the computer animation program where I would learn the industry’s secrets on creating moving pictures. Little did I know that my passion for design and interest in animation would expand and evolve into something completely different.
In a nutshell, I got into Web Design at the booming of the Web 2.0 era. Back when Myspace was a thing and you could sprinkle CSS and animated gifs to taste. Anyhow, it started right when I needed to show my premature animation work and design capabilities. Knowing the excess of available resources on the web I dove in and took the challenge to build my first website from tutorials. Yes, using tables and inline CSS… don’t judge me. After successfully building my first site I fell in love with web development and the rest is pretty much history.
Fast forward to today and I now have a loving wife and daughter who is 10 years old. She is a pain in the butt, but I love her to death. I am very fortunate that I get to do what I love and that’s because I get the chance to create things out of nothing and I find that very addictive and incredibly rewarding specially when it solves a problem. I enjoy the process and the never-ending learning that’s involved.
Through the years, I have worked at several companies in different industries including medical education, toy licensing company, and even a car wash manufacturing company where I was part of the marketing team as Website Designer. Many times, I got the opportunity to wear multiple hats to get the job done which made it even more exciting. All while occasionally taking on side projects and other freelance design jobs. I’m currently now a fulltime contractor working with Wash Brands, 4thpark, and other organizations as Website Designer and Developer building exciting things and looking forward to the next adventure. In my spare time I like to listen to audio books, fly my DJI Mini 2, unwind on Gran Turismo, and hangout with my family.
